Gering Parks Usage Fees

On Monday December 9, 2024, we were made aware of an initiative by the Gering City Parks Director and the City Parks and Recreation Committee to charge Gering Youth Sports Organizations a usage fee of $1500 for access to Dome Rock Diamonds / Oregon Trail Park.   This will apply to GGSA, GO Baseball, Gering Legion, and all competitive baseball and softball organizations, who wish to use the parks.

Additionally, our concessions operator will also need to pay a $750 dollar fee.   Currently, our concessions operator donates 30% of all proceeds to GGSA and GO Baseball.

These fees will impede our abilities to keep costs as low as possible for our player families, as well as our push to continued investments into the fields, such as new scoreboards, lights on Field 5, and other improvements to under-maintained fields.
